2011-03-22 Gabriela Dobrot to present on Sustainability in Pharmaceutical Packaging - As part of a workshop on sustainability in health care packaging to be held on Thursday, April 21 by the New England IOPP chapter, Gabriela Dobrot will present on regulatory and market requirements for packaging and the particular challenges for pharma packaging. 2011-02-16 EPI at Walmart's 6th Sustainable Packaging Exposition - Again in 2011, EPI will support the Walmart and Sam's Club Sustainable Packaging Exposition, providing education on the sustainable packaging scorecard and packaging sustainability claims.

At the Expo:

  • Victor Bell will lead a seminar on “Do's and Don'ts of green claims” (free of charge for all Expo attendees)
  • Sha Sha will conduct a 2½ hour training on the Walmart Packaging Scorecard on April 12th from 7:30 to 10:00. ($99 per person for all Expo attendees)

EPI, as the designated auditor, is responsible for reviewing all marketing materials that the exhibitors submit to Walmart Expo, and for making sure all the environmental claims are in line with FTC guidelines and Walmart requirements. Expo Registration Site

2011-01-12 Product Stewardship Series: Thinking through Stakeholder Roles in EPR Systems for Packaging - Victor Bell will present in a workshop hosted by the Product Stewardship Institute. The presentation will examine the roles of industry, state and local government, and other parties within an extended producer responsibility (EPR) system. It will explain what EPR would mean for industry in practical terms. The workshop is the second in a 4-session series, and will be held via teleconference on February 1.
